We are excited to add a Survey Crew Chief for our Jasper/Evansville, Indiana, Survey Team! The qualified candidate will perform and lead a team that performs Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and Construction Layout.


Job Summary/ Essential Responsibility

  • Responsible for performing routine surveys as directed by senior project personnel.
  • Provides Recommendations to Party Chief/Resident Engineer on field survey procedures.
  • Trains Technicians in the use of survey equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining survey equipment.
  • Checks Party Chief’s calculations.
  • Reads and comprehends construction documents
  • Operates survey equipment for field surveys.
  • Accurately documents and records field data.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Additional Responsibilities: Basic Qualification

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of boundary survey including ALTA and Section Line Surveys
  • Proficiency with conventional GPS, Total Station and Data Collectors
  • Experience with Topcon hardware and software
  • Ability to organize field notes and read Construction Plans
  • Experience performing Boundary Research, required
  • Ability to execute field staking
  • Strong math skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Desired Qualifications
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Associates Degree in Land Surveying or related

Combination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at client’s job site, construction trailer, and in the field. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment and doing extensive walking. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
